FOUR PARTIES ARE INVOLVED IN
SHARING THE TOTAL COMMISSION

After a successful sale of your property, the real estate commission is shared among all who assisted in this important transaction. Generally, the commission is divided four ways: to the listing broker, the listing agent, the selling broker and the selling agent. In recognition of the important roles each played in the sale of your property, each is compensated by a percentage of the commission.



2.50% SELLING AGENT COMMISSION IS
THE MOST COMMON ON THE MLS

After analyzing ALL commissions paid in the MLS for residential properties during the last two years:  70% of ALL commissions were 2.50% (what we offer to selling agents that bring the buyer).  15% of ALL commissions were even LESS than 2.50%.  This means that about 85% of all real estate agents offer 2.50% (or less) on the MLS.  The remainder 15% was for 2.75% or more.


BUT A WARNING ABOUT AGENTS OFFERING
LESS THAN 2.50% AS A SELLING COMMISSION

Based on our "real world" experience, if a real estate agent offers less than 2.50% as a SELLING COMMISSION on the MLS, it will GREATLY REDUCE the number of agents showing your home, which will result in fewer offers, resulting in your home being on the market longer, with a lower selling price.  However, offering MORE than 2.50% will NOT make your home sell faster and it will cut into your profit from selling your home.
